Committee Reports

Archery: The 3D course is setup.  Ron sends his thanks to those who helped.  It only took about 2½ hours to put the target out, including cutting lanes in the treetops in the logged area.  The internet shoot is April 8th-9th at a cost of $10/day to shoot.

Hunter/Trapper education:  No report.

Muzzleloader: No Report.

Rifle: The combination has been changed.

Silhouette:  Nothing to Report.

Federation: Convention Highlights: Friday night fundraiser was a lot of fun.  They raised about $1,000.  Fish Commission:  License increase made them solvent.  Grants are available for any organization wanting to promote youth fishing – no one day derbies.  The idea is that equipment will be bought for the kids to keep and that they will be taken fishing at least a few times. Deadline for application is May 1st with money being awarded June 1st.  Game Commission:  If there’s no license increase by next year, they won’t have enough money to operate in 2008. The legislature is saying that if they want money, the Game Commission is going to have to control the deer population the way the legislature wants it controlled.  Environmental: The mercury bill has a foothold – legislation has been proposed that they think will pass.  Poster contest: There were three youth that placed in the contest from Northern Potter.
